Oi ! Le Mors aux Dents is certainly one of the most legendary bands but also paradoxically one of the most unknown French oi bands of the 1980s. They were pretty unknown because only a little information was spread about them so far, nearly no photos. The band from French Basque Country did not perform many concerts outside of that area (even if it seems they have played in Bordeaux), and just an uninterested interview in a fanzine. Still they remain legendary because at that time the far right wing bands were prevailing on this stage and so it was with a certain amount of courage that these four musicians had decided to play the instruments and to reconnect with the proletarian and contestant origins of this stage with the undiscovered influence of Cockney Rejects. An oi ! band like those of the first English wave, without any particular look (only the guitarist had a skinhead look), this latter seemed secondary to them. Their main interests resided in music, the spirit and the lyrics. Moreover these ones are without appeal : the band spits on the bourgeoisie and social injustices all along their songs. It smells class hatred, streets and their bands. They also spat on corrupted politicians and those who change sides. We like the band’s way of doing. And to tell you the truth, Oi ! Le Mors Aux Dents is undoubtedly the first far left oi ! band in France, long before the explosion of the RASH movement fifteen years later.

Since the beginning Rusty Knife has always operated in co-production or self-production, but this new project will be hugely expensive. Indeed, we managed to find one of the members of the group who still possesses (miracles exist!) the recording tapes of the songs (not all of them unfortunately). We’re going to have to pay a studio to mix them and try to improve the sound of the other songs. The demo can be found on the internet so you probably know the quality of the sound… In the original files there are also some surprises (unreleased songs). I have to tell you that this project is going to be the most expensive I have ever worked on with the label, that is why we are launching that subscription.

Since this is a subscription and not a pre-order the record can only be made once. Roughly speaking, the records are going to be manufactured as soon as we will raise enough funds, that’s why we cannot give you an exact date for the release. But it would be fine in 2020 ! And the more you suscribe, the faster the record will be released. So talk about it and share this link. And as in any subscription, there will be a return : each subscriber will have his name in the list of thanks of the record (isn’t it sooo cooooool?), and will also receive a poster of the group in limited edition (very classy :D) designed by PASKAL MILLET who plays from time to time on the label's records (www.facebook.com/PaskalMilletArtwork). On the other hand, all vinyl copies, subscribed or not, will be accompanied by a series of 3 or 4 postcards made by punks designers with the group's titles as themes (a postcard = a song by the band).


There are 37 different recorded songs and some are saved in two versions. The best quality pieces will appear on the vynil records. This one will be made as a 180g and available into two different colours : blue or black. The CD (maybe 2 cds...) will include the vynil tracks as well as songs of lower sound quality.
